Basketball Recap: Ja'nell Saunders' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wilby over Woodland Regional

Wilby lost against Woodland Regional back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wilby Wildcats fell 53-41 to the Woodland Regional Hawks. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wilby lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ja'Nell Saunders, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. Wilby is 11-5 when Saunders posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-4 otherwise. Joi Jackson was another key player, putting up five points and five steals.

Wilby's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Woodland Regional, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
