Football Game Preview: Alexander/Pembroke Defenders vs. Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton Eagles

The Alexander/Pembroke Defenders will challenge the Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Alexander/Pembroke is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Le Roy/Caledonia-Mumford 27-0. Given the Defenders' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Rivals are ranked 258th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory.

Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton's win came from a few key players Alexander/Pembroke will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Thandon Bensink, who rushed for 93 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Tristen Gibbs, who rushed for 65 yards and one score on only nine carries.
