Basketball Game Preview: Gibbon Buffaloes vs. Arcadia/Loup City Rebels

Gibbon hasn't had much luck against Arcadia/Loup City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gibbon Buffaloes will be playing at home against the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels at 6:00 p.m.

Gibbon is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 54-41 to Overton.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brooke Sell, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassandra Trevino, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Arcadia/Loup City slipped by Anselmo-Merna 36-35 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

Arcadia/Loup City's win came from a few key players Gibbon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Olivia Fitzgerald, who posted nine points and three steals. Tayler Obermiller was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Gibbon's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Arcadia/Loup City, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Gibbon has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Arcadia/Loup City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
