Austin is a perfect 10-0 against Akins since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Austin Maroons will be playing at home against the Akins Eagles at 10:45 a.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Austin's offense. They lost 3-0 to Westlake on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Chaparrals are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Akins has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 7. They came up short against Westlake on Saturday, falling 4-0.

Austin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Akins' loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything went Austin's way against Akins in their previous meeting on February 4th, as Austin made off with a 5-0 win. Does Austin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Akins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
