Basketball Recap: Sussex Academy Comes Up Short

Sussex Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 59-30 loss at the hands of the Laurel Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-25 back in December of 2024.

Sussex Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Laurel, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sussex Academy will head out to square off against Woodbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laurel, they will venture away from home to challenge Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
