Basketball Game Preview: Giddings Buffaloes vs. Taylor Ducks

Giddings is 1-9 against Taylor since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Ducks at 7:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Giddings is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Austin Achieve. The Buffaloes strolled past the Polar Bears with points to spare last Tuesday, taking the game 66-51. The win continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Polar Bears: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Taylor blew past Caldwell, posting a 73-46 victory.

Giddings better keep an eye on Kadrien Deary. He was instrumental in Taylor's win, shooting 53% from the field en route to 24 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. Those eight assists gave Deary a new career-high. Markell Fitzgerald was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals.

Giddings ended up a good deal behind Taylor when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 57-39. Thankfully for the Buffaloes, TJ Whybrew (who went 10-for-17 on his way to 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
