Baseball Recap: Olympic Trojans vs. Berry Cardinals

Olympic extended their losing streak to 14 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They lost 12-1 to the Berry Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-2 on Tuesday.

Olympic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Word, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That run marked the first that Word has scored this season.

As for Berry, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

On Berry's side, Eddy Berihuete was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits Berihuete has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Justin Williams, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Olympic will venture away from home to face off against West Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Berry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
