Softball Recap: Cascade Cadets vs. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders

Cascade put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders 12-3. Cascade might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Lacie Godby made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Godby has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Godby was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Tara Gruca was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Suzy Moore, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

On Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's side, Zoie Gray was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyanne Carmichael, who went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Cascade pushed their record up to 9-0 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
