Softball Recap: Marshall Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pennfield

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marshall). They were the clear victors by a 25-3 margin over the Pennfield Panthers on Tuesday. Considering the Redhawks have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Bella Ryan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Hayes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Pennfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will welcome Harper Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pennfield, they will host Ionia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
