Basketball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Comes Up Short

After flying high against Covenant Christian Academy last Monday, Thomas Jefferson came back down to earth. Thomas Jefferson fell 67-57 to the St. Charles Catholic Comets on Thursday. Thomas Jefferson has struggled against St. Charles Catholic recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Thomas Jefferson lost, don't look at Rashad Stevenson. Despite the final result, he posted 26 points. Stevenson's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Affremai Geary was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Thomas Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for St. Charles Catholic, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas Jefferson will challenge Jefferson RISE Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Charles Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
