Pope County never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They skirted past the Dongola Demons 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-3 back in March.

Pope County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaydan Holmes, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Pope County and bumps their season record up to 7-12. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Dongola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pope County will challenge Crab Orchard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dongola, they will take on Hardin County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
