Softball Game Preview: Pisgah Bears vs. Tuscola Mountaineers

The Pisgah Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Tuscola Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pisgah's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Tuscola's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pisgah's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when West Henderson hitters got past them. The Bears fell 10-7 to the Falcons on Thursday. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tuscola). Everything went their way against East Henderson on Tuesday as they made off with a 23-1 victory. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Tuscola's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Pisgah, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

Everything went Pisgah's way against Tuscola when the teams last played back in March, as Pisgah made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
