Volleyball Recap: Gridley Extends Road Winning Streak to Nine

Gridley won the last time they faced Marysville and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Gridley was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-11.

Iris Counihan paced Gridley's offense, picking up 15 kills. Counihan got some help from Isabel Santillan and her 29 assists. Counihan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Gridley pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Marysville, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Gridley will head out to face off against Central Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marysville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Las Plumas at 6:30 p.m.
