Baseball Recap: Rocori Comes Up Short

Rocori fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against St. Cloud Cathedral on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 4-3. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Zander Folkerts made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Rocori and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for St. Cloud Cathedral, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocori will square off against Brainerd at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Cloud Cathedral, they will take on Osakis at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Silverstreaks at the right time seeing as the Silverstreaks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
