Basketball Game Preview: Great Commission vs. Calvary Christian Academy Conquerors

Great Commission will venture away from home to challenge the Calvary Christian Academy Conquerors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Great Commission took a blow against Calvary Christian Academy, falling 61-32.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Johnstown Christian as Calvary Christian Academy made off with a 66-44 win. The Conquerors pushed the score to 53-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bluejays cut but never quite recovered from.

Calvary Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Jackson Suttles, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Suttles' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paiton Zimmerman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Great Commission's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-0.

Great Commission came up short against Calvary Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February, falling 39-33. Can Great Commission avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
