Baseball Game Preview: Silver Fighting Colts vs. Varsity Opponent

The Silver Fighting Colts will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Varsity Opponent at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Silver's tournament run continued when they took on Capital two weeks ago. Silver walked away with a 4-1 victory over Capital. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Colts.

Silver's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Devion Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Varsity Opponent). Everything went their way against Hill Country Christian on Tuesday as Varsity Opponent made off with a 19-2 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Varsity Opponent as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Silver now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Varsity Opponent, their victory bumped their record up to 14-36.
