Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Bartow

There's no place like home for Bartow, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let the Auburndale Bloodhounds get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Bloodhounds: they've now won seven in a row.

Ryleigh Knowlton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Knowlton was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Niamah Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Emma Huffman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bartow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Bartow's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Auburndale, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.

Bartow wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 victory against Hardee on the 23rd. Auburndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
