Basketball Recap: Amplus Academy Comes Up Short

Amplus Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles 74-46. The Archers were down 72-44 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Amplus Academy lost, don't look at FALNA AHFEROM. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. That was a full 43.5% of Amplus Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was DAJON MC GINNIS, who earned 12 points and six rebounds.

Ja'Cory Gory was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 21 on his way to 28 points and eight boards for Somerset Sky Pointe. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleo Loo-Beamer, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Amplus Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.

Amplus Academy has already played their next contest, an 80-29 defeat against Sierra Vista on the 3rd. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-52 loss against Somerset Academy Losee on the 3rd.
