Basketball Recap: Community Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Makayla Nguyen and Lacey Cupp

Community Christian lost against Spring Baptist Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Community Christian Lions took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Baptist Academy Royals.

Community Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Lacey Cupp and Makayla Nguyen. Cupp dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds, while Nguyen posted nine points and six boards. Community Christian is 2-1 when Cupp posts eight or more boards, but 0-13 otherwise.

Addy Doelitsch continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Spring Baptist Academy, dropping a triple-double with 12 points, 14 rebounds, and ten blocks. Doelitsch is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Munoz, who scored eight points and ten rebounds.

Community Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Spring Baptist Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coincidentally, Community Christian and Spring Baptist Academy will both be playing Faith Christian the next time they take the court. Community Christian will host Faith Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Spring Baptist Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on February 13th.
