Baseball Game Preview: Kennedy Titans vs. St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots

The Kennedy Titans will face off against the St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kennedy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Concord 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since March 20th.

Michael Pickett was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 5-for-6. He has become a key player for Kennedy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 8-12 otherwise. Rylan Padilla was another key player, getting three hits from his four at bats.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Kennedy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Joseph Notre Dame, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against San Lorenzo on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pilots needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

St. Joseph Notre Dame's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
