The Cheney RVT Beavers waltzed into their match on Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 82-35 win over Harvard Ellis Tech. Cheney RVT has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.
Cheney RVT's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mohamed Camara, who scored 13 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanye Pitts, who scored 13 points.
Cheney RVT pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Harvard Ellis Tech, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheney RVT won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Goodwin Tech at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Goodwin Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Cheney RVT is ranked 22nd). As for Harvard Ellis Tech, Harvard Ellis Tech and Windham RVT will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Windham RVT has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 230 points over their last three contests.
