Volleyball Recap: Goleman Gators vs. Hialeah Thoroughbreds
There's no place like home for Goleman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Hialeah Thoroughbreds on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Gators not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Goleman took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-8, 25-5.
Goleman was led to victory by Alyssa Heras and Adriana Cuarezma. Heras had nine assists and three aces, while Cuarezma hit 53.3% for eight kills and nine aces and five digs. Those nine assists gave Heras a new career-high. Paola Mendez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
They weren't the only good server: Goleman was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 30 aces. They are 6-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
