Volleyball Recap: Thunderbird Beats Cactus for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Thunderbird extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 12-5 in the process. They put the hurt on the Cactus Cobras with a sharp 3-0 win. The Titans were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Cobras, so the Titans were just returning the favor.

Thunderbird was led to victory by Ethan Schlesinger and Alexander Kinder. Schlesinger had 12 digs and one assist, while Kinder had 15 kills, 11 digs, and one block. That's the most kills Kinder has posted since April 3rd.

As for Cactus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 20 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Cactus' loss came despite strong showings from Dillon Hommel and Vinnie Vitale. Hommel had 25 assists and 14 digs, while Vitale had 18 digs. Hommel has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last seven times he's played.

Thunderbird has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Eastmark on the 30th. As for Cactus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Estrella Foothills on the 1st.
