Baseball Recap: Hanson Memorial Takes a Loss

Hanson Memorial's last matchup with Central Catholic could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Eagles, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Hanson Memorial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Vacarella, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Vacarella's first of the season.

Hanson Memorial now has a losing record of 9-10-1. As for Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-13.

Hanson Memorial and Central Catholic could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Tigers will square off against Vandebilt Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (147 vs. 17). Meanwhile, Central Catholic (ranked 137th) will meet Holy Cross (ranked seventh) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
