Baseball Game Preview: Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions vs. Miami Springs Golden Hawks

The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions will take on the Miami Springs Golden Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Immaculata-La Salle 3.5, Miami Springs 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Immaculata-La Salle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past JC Bermudez Doral 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royal Lions.

Meanwhile, Miami Springs got themselves on the board against Downtown Doral on Tuesday, but Downtown Doral never followed suit. They skirted past the Dolphins 2-0. That's two games straight that the Golden Hawks have won by exactly two runs.

Josiah Acosta tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Miami Springs' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Yordan Torres, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Torres a new career-high.

Miami Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Immaculata-La Salle, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
