Soccer Game Preview: Jackson vs. Callaway

The Jackson Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Callaway Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson has given up an average of 4.6 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jackson came up short against Strong Rock Christian on Friday, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Jackson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Strong Rock Christian are ranked 125th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Callaway made sure to put some goals up on the board against Westside on Friday. They blew past the Seminoles 10-2. The result was nothing new for Callaway, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Callaway has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those four matches. This is the second loss in a row for Jackson and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Jackson couldn't quite get it done against Callaway when the teams last played on March 4th as they fell 3-1. Can Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
