Basketball Recap: Maconaquah's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Maconaquah extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 6-1. They beat the Northfield Norsemen by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 56-54. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-54 on Tuesday.

As for Northfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two points.

Despite the defeat, Northfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Teagan Baer shot 67% from the field on her way to 20 points. Baer has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Faith Krom was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Maconaquah has already played their next contest, a 75-21 victory against Eastern on the 6th. As for Northfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-54 win against Manchester on the 6th.
