Volleyball Recap: Conner Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Mccracken County

Conner faced McCracken County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Charlotte Patton paced Conner's offense, picking up 13 kills. Patton got some help from Shylyn Koerber and her nine assists. Patton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Conner's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for McCracken County, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Conner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bryan Station on the 27th. As for McCracken County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Scott County on the 27th.
