Baseball Game Preview: Water Valley Blue Devils vs. New Site Royals

For the second straight game, Water Valley will face off against New Site. The Blue Devils will square off against the Royals at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Water Valley heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Saturday. They fell just short of New Site by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.

For New Site's part, Landon Stanley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Stanley has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, New Site's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Case Clark, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

New Site is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Water Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.
