Softball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Sullivan County Griffins, falling 17-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

Benton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Sullivan County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coincidentally, Benton and Sullivan County will both be playing Columbia Montour Vo-Tech the next time they take the field. The Griffins will head out to face the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on the 7th.
