Recap: Oakmont Vikings vs. Nevada Union Miners
This season hasn't been kind to The Oakmont Vikings, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were dealt a 45-7 defeat at the hands of Nevada Union on Friday. Oakmont was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.
Beau Ogles threw for 115 yards and a touchdown. Eli Hunt was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards. On the ground, Luke Scott rushed for 71 yards.
Bodey Eelkema was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Dustin Philpott, who threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Oakmont's loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.0 points per game. As for Nevada Union, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
