Baseball Game Preview: Mission Bears vs. Lowell Cardinals

Mission is 1-9 against Lowell since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Mission Bears will head out to face off against the Lowell Cardinals at 3:30 p.m.

Mission is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Crystal Springs Uplands, falling 9-3.

Mission saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alani Krejci, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Krejci also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Lowell posted their closest victory since April 20, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against University, sneaking past 3-1.

Julian Cook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Lowell's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mission, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Mission might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Lowell in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Mission avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
