Baseball Recap: Westover Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Timberlake Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, Westover Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes as they made off with a 14-4 win. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Colt Cromy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Jordan, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ben Knecht, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Westover Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

With the victory, Westover Christian Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Timberlake Christian, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
