Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Hope Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Covenant Academy, Pleasant Hope was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Seymour Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-18, 25-13.

Lily Lambeth paced Pleasant Hope's offense, picking up 15 kills. Lambeth got some help from Abigail Fitzlaff and her 35 assists. Lambeth was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Seymour lost, don't look at Elianna Wallace. Despite the final result, she had ten digs. Wallace has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Kallie Benson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The win got Pleasant Hope back to even at 9-9-3. As for Seymour, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Pleasant Hope wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Greenfield on the 29th. As for Seymour, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Niangua on the 30th.
