Basketball Recap: Kent-Meridian Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Kent-Meridian fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They snuck past the Decatur Golden Gators with a 66-61 win on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by exactly five points.

Despite the loss, Decatur still got an impressive performance from Dominique Degrate, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 20 points and seven boards. The match was Degrate's third in a row with at least ten points. Dar Mcjimpson Jr was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Kent-Meridian's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-9. As for Decatur, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Kent-Meridian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 92-50 defeat against Auburn Mountainview on the 24th. As for Decatur, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 73-32 loss against Federal Way on the 24th.
