Shea has gone 9-1 against Davies Career & Tech recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Raiders will welcome the Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Shea managed to slip by Central Falls the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Raiders came up short against the Warriors on Friday, falling 23-11. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly 12 runs.
Shea saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Perez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another was Zanyiah Fortes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Davies Career & Tech). They walked away with an 11-7 win over Mt. Hope on Friday. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly four runs.
Gabriella Fisher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kylie Robert was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Brooke Barnes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Davies Career & Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Hope only posted an OBP of .361.
The victory got Davies Career & Tech back to even at 2-2. As for Shea, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Shea has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Davies Career & Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Shea took their win against Davies Career & Tech in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
