Volleyball Recap: Curlew Cougars vs. Northport Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley Christian, Curlew was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Northport Mustangs by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge match for the Cougars, as the team was forced to settle for a 3-1 loss when these two played two weeks ago.
The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20.
Despite the loss, Northport still got an impressive performance from Olivia Stark, who had 21 digs, 14 kills, six aces, and a block. Stark has been hot , having posted five or more kills the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalilah Colton, who had 11 digs and 21 assists.
Curlew's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. As for Northport, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
Curlew will be playing in front of their home fans against Mary Walker at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Northport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
