Basketball Recap: Vina Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Vina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 64-28 loss at the hands of the Marion County Red Raiders. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Raiders from their previous meeting back in February.

Vina lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Layla Hester, who posted nine points and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 35 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Lamar, who earned nine points.

Vina's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Marion County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vina won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shoals Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion County, they and Hamilton will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
