Recap: North Johnston Panthers vs. Goldsboro Cougars
After soaring to 55 points the game before, the North Johnston Panthers were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 29-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goldsboro. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North Johnston has scored all season.
Goldsboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amiyah Ford, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Aziyah Boyer, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for North Johnston and nudges their season record down to 13-6. As for Goldsboro, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Johnston will play host again and welcome Eastern Wayne, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Eastern Wayne: 29.6, North Johnston: 27) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Goldsboro, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Spring Creek at 6:30 p.m. Spring Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Goldsboro is ranked 60th).
