Baseball Recap: Fostoria Comes Up Short

Fostoria extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-22 in the process. They came up short against the Eastwood Eagles, falling 18-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-8 back in April.

Fostoria saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Boston Trent, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Eastwood, they pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

On Eastwood's side, Brady Ramlow was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Ramlow was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Kadyn Donnell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jack Sensenig was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

Fostoria didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Port Clinton on the 23rd. As for Eastwood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Genoa Area on the 24th.
