Preview: Millbury Woolies vs. Sutton Sammies
After three games on the road, Millbury is heading back home. They will take on the Sutton Sammies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Millbury and Rockland squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly Millbury had to settle for second. Millbury fell 14-7 to Rockland. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Millbury couldn't answer the 7 points Rockland scored afterwards.
Meanwhile, Sutton unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 46-20 loss at the hands of KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate. Sutton was down 40-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Loss or not, Sutton got some senior leadership from Landon Dulmaine who picked up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown and Josh Farrell who gained 80 total yards and a touchdown. Dulmaine was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 60 yards.
Millbury has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Sutton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Millbury against Sutton when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 36-0 victory. Does Millbury have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sutton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
