Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Chapin Eagles

The Hillcrest Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Chapin Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hillcrest is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Hillcrest came up short against T.L. Hanna and fell 6-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Chapin was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell 6-2 to Lexington.

Griff Harper was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Weston Plotner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Chapin has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
