Soccer Game Preview: Green River vs. Rock Springs

The Green River Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Rock Springs TIGERS at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Green River will be strutting in after a win while Rock Springs will be coming in after a defeat.

Green River is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Natrona County, who was ranked 21st at the time (Green River was ranked 12th). Wolves beat the Mustangs by a goal, winning 3-2. The game was the first time Green River have beaten Natrona County on their pitch since May 4, 2019.

Green River hit Natrona County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gavin Mares, Aiden Morris, and Braxton Doak.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Rock Springs was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kelly Walsh. Rock Springs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Green River's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-2. As for Rock Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Green River came up short against Rock Springs when the teams last played back in April, falling 2-0. Can Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
