Baseball Recap: Kirby Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Kirby duked it out with Southwind on Monday. The Kirby Cougars fell 12-7 to the Southwind Jaguars. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Jaguars 5-1 in the first period.

Kirby's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Southwind, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Kirby will venture away from home to face off against West Memphis Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southwind, they will face off against Fairley at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
