Baseball Recap: Valencia Beats West Mesa for Their Third Straight Victory

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Valencia ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the West Mesa Mustangs 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won three matches in a row.

Valencia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaylon Zamora, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Zamora a new career-high.

Valencia pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Mesa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
