Baseball Game Preview: St. Michael's Horsemen vs. West Las Vegas Dons

St. Michael has gone 8-2 against West Las Vegas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Horsemen will face off against the Dons at 6:00 p.m. St. Michael's is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

St. Michael's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Fe Indian, sneaking past 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Horsemen in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won four in a row.

Santa Fe Indian's batters probably weren't too happy with Carson West, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up three walks). West has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Michael's saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derick Saiz, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, West Las Vegas entered their game against Robertson on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dons took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 29th, but that streak is no more.

West Las Vegas' defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for St. Michael's, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

St. Michael's came out on top in a nail-biter against West Las Vegas in their previous meeting on Monday, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Horsemen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
