Baseball Game Preview: Trumann Wildcats vs. Lonoke Jackrabbits

Trumann is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Lonoke Jackrabbits at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Trumann was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out East Poinsett County 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Peyton Chaffin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jace Bennett, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Braydon Passmore was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Lonoke made easy work of Monticello on Saturday and carried off a 10-1 victory.

Lonoke's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Trumann, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
