Football Recap: Pearl City-Eastland Comes Up Short

Pearl City-Eastland fell victim to Durand/Pecatonica and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 38-0 loss at the hands of the Rivermen. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Rivermen: they've now lost seven in a row.

Durand/Pecatonica's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dermot Dolan, who rushed for 127 yards and a pair of TDs. Dolan is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 114 every time he's taken the field this season. Lukas Rossow was another key rusher, rushing for 86 yards and one touchdown.

Pearl City-Eastland's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Durand/Pecatonica, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pearl City-Eastland will take on Forreston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Durand/Pecatonica, they will square off against Byron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rivermen 12.8, the Tigers 6) so any points scored will be well earned.
