League recap: Bayfield's Miller delivers best pitching performance from past week

3A Intermountain league recap: 3/27/13

3A Intermountain's top pitcher this week was Bayfield's Clay Miller. He struck out 13 batters this week.

Miller was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .364 average, one home run and eight RBIs. The Wolverines went 2-1.

Alamosa's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only three hits and three walks, both of which led the league.

The league boasted seven .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Adrian Moreno, who hit .667 by going 6-for-9.

The most RBI in the league this week belonged to Bayfield's Miller, who drove in eight. For the year, he has racked up 18 RBIs, good for first in the league.



Skyler Timmins drove in five runners on Tuesday in the Maroons' 13-1 victory over Salida. He went 2-for-3 and scored one run.

Farmington's Miller struck out 13 the Wolverines hitters en route to a 4-3 victory on March 21. Over five innings of work, he gave up three hits and one run.
