Volleyball Recap: Belleville East Finds Playoff Glory Versus Collinsville

It's playoff time, and Belleville East had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Collinsville Kahoks 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Lancers, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Jackson Byers paced Belleville East's offense, picking up 15 kills. Byers got some help from Keegan Rose and his 37 assists. Rose was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Belleville East pushed their record up to 25-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Collinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-17.

Looking ahead, Belleville East will host Althoff Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. Collinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
